2005-Eliminating Lightning Damage for Dam Instrumentation Systems

This paper was presented at the Annual Meeting and Conference of the United States Society on Dams (USSD), June 6-10, 2005, in Salt Lake City, Utah. It describes historical problems with conventional analog signal multiplexing ADAS architecture, and offers a new architecture, which takes advantage of Geomation's OutDAQ Generation of products to eliminate a major reason for lightning damage to automated data acquisition systems.
