2005-Wireless System Collects Data from Remote Dam

This paper was published in Hydro Review, April 2005. It describes Southern California Edison Company's decision rationale for selecting the OutDAQ for the automatic monitoring of 66 piezometers at the Big Creek hydro project in California. One of the main requirements was to interface with a Westinghouse Ovation SCADA system already installed at the site. Other requirements included solar power and wireless communications.
