Field technical services fall into four broad categories:
During system design, Geomation will provide project specific applications engineering support for configuring system hardware, selecting communications media and when possible, identifying appropriate sensor technologies for the physical measurements to be made.
Following system design, installation supervision is available to our customers for assistance with proper equipment installation and grounding, cable routing, antenna placement, transient protection and instrumentation connections.
After system installation, assistance is available for configuring network topology, testing network communications, system programming, system start-up and testing, and operation and maintenance training.
In most situations, problems with Geomation equipment can be resolved with telephone support and on-site spare parts. For those situations that require more in-depth troubleshooting, Geomation can provide an instrumentation engineer on-site. The engineer will resolve problems, if possible, or make recommendations for corrective actions. It should be noted that any work done on equipment under warranty will not extend the warranty period for that equipment.
